Brady Barnett makes his solo piano debut with "After The Rain" a collaboration of raw emotions and heartfelt melodies. This collection of pieces was captured in a single live performance and remains unaltered to maintain the emotional intensity of the initial recording.
Brady began playing the piano by ear at the age of three (3), and by age ten (10) was touring with local gospel groups and pop bands. He continued to perform live music in multiple genres throughout his teens and decided to study classical piano at Brevard College in Brevard, NC, where he received a degree in fine arts. After Brevard, he furthered his musical education at the Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida, and received his B.S. (recording industry) and B.M. (piano performance) from Middle Tennessee State University. Since that time, Brady has been using his talents as a performer, producer and recording engineer in Los Angeles and Nashville, TN.
Brady specializes in the creation and production of original music for radio and television. Of Sound Mind's impressive client list includes such recording artists as 'N Sync, Faith Hill, Keith Urban, Leann Rimes, Alan Jackson, George Jones, Reba, Lonestar and SHeDAISY, to name a few.
A personal message from Brady....
The music on After The Rain was written after one of the stormiest periods of my life. In August of 2000, my second son, Jonah Matthew, was born prematurely and only lived a short time. I was with Jonah for his entire life of only one (1) hour. I held him in my arms and looked into his little face as he breathed his last breath and slipped away from me. I talked to him and rubbed his head to let him know his Daddy was there with him, and he was not alone.
 After losing Jonah, I was consumed by every emotion imaginable, from deep sadness to anger to confusion. I started to hear melodies in my head that would comfort me. One day, many months later, I sat down at the piano and began to play. I played for several hours without stopping until all of the melodies that had been in my head were realized on the piano.
This CD was born out of that outpouring of emotions. These pieces don't make me think of the grief I experienced with Jonah ... they remind me of the healing I felt afterwards. I can look back now on that experience and take comfort that Jonah's short life made me a better man, a better father, a better human being.
